Why certificates still expire unexpectedly
Auto-renewal (certbot, ACME clients, hosting panels) usually works until it silently doesn't: a changed DNS record, a firewall blocking validation, a server that renewed but never reloaded, or a forgotten subdomain on an old box. Browsers then show a full-page warning to every visitor.
How the check works
We connect to the server on port 443 and read the certificate it actually presents. If that isn't possible, we fall back to public Certificate Transparency logs and tell you so.
